Two things are pretty consistent in life; no, not death and taxes. People like to know what they’re getting before they buy it, and people like free stuff! I’ve also found that starting a discussion on questions that make us go “Hmmm” help us stop long enough to confirm what we do know well, to learn what we don’t know, and to pursue what we need to know better. Mashing all these concepts together, every now and then I’ll be sharing questions that various chapters of Healing Hereafter addresses as well as the answers from the quick-read version. Then everyone can better understand what the book expands upon even before buying it to hopefully lead us to better know a better hereafter. Enjoy your speed date with Chapter 3!
Chapter 3
The foundation of our framework of the biblical hereafter is who
God is and why that determines everything else, so we begin with
him. We explore how God reveals himself to humans as a trinity;
a community of three entities that each optimally represent various
aspects of who he is in ways that humans can understand. This
explains why God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy
Spirit are all necessary to make sense of God to humans and to allow
God to exact his plan among us. We also learn how God’s omnipotence,
omniscience, and omnipresence result in his nature—his set of
ideals—and why this nature never changes.
